brazilian lovestory

In 2013, I traveled to Brazil, inspired by my Brazilian ex girlfriend and photographers like Henry Cartier-Bresson. As a Swiss native, I found myself in a completely new, undiscovered world. The cities, a mosaic of colors and shapes, revealed social inequality. A serene sunset offered a respite from the bustling city life. Luiza's joy in a café reflected the Brazilian zest for life. I was particularly impressed by children playing football. While the wealthier children with their sneakers aimed to score goals, the poorer, barefoot children focused on creative ball control. Luiza gave me deeper insights into Brazilian culture and hospitality. This trip laid the foundation for my work in documentary photography, sparking my interest and curiosity in social differences and the universal values of joy and community.
